A Microschool for Tucson Homeschool Families

The P.E.L.L. Program offers a creative, hands-on, and enriching educational experience for homeschool families in Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Catalina Foothills, and surrounding areas. We offer 1- and 2-day-a-week programs that combine core academics with project-based learning, creativity, and community connection.

Whether you’re looking for additional structure, socialization, or hands-on growth, the P.E.L.L. Program is designed for students who thrive in small groups and a flexible learning environment.

Who We Serve

  • Children ages 6–12 who benefit from a mix of academics, creativity, and collaborative projects.

  • Teens 13+ looking for enrichment in leadership, life skills, critical thinking, and literature-based discussions.

  • Homeschool families seeking a flexible, part-time learning option.

Curriculum Highlights

At P.E.L.L., we cover a variety of engaging and meaningful topics across Math, Science, English Language Arts (ELA), and History:

Math

  • Problem-solving through storytelling

  • Real-world math applications

  • Logic challenges and geometry projects

  • The Book of Perfectly Perilous Math: Fun math puzzles

  • Mathematicians Are People, Too: Exploring famous mathematicians

  • Measurement, Fractions, and Geometry through hands-on activities

Science

  • Nature exploration and outdoor learning

  • Animal habitats, ecosystems, and biology

  • Hands-on experiments: Creating volcanoes, weather experiments

  • The Storybook of Science: Life sciences and human biology

  • Ecology and environmental studies through real-world connections

English Language Arts (ELA)

  • Classic literature: Winnie-the-Pooh, The Tale of Peter Rabbit

  • Creative writing: Poetry, short stories, personal reflections

  • Story analysis and literary discussions

  • Spelling, grammar, and vocabulary games

  • Read-alouds and seasonal storytelling to spark creativity

History

  • Exploring ancient civilizations: Egypt, Greece, Rome

  • Re-enactments and creative history projects

  • The Story of the World: History from early civilizations to modern times

  • Greek myths and folklore: Learning through D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths

  • Historical storytelling and primary source analysis

About Our Instructors

All of our instructors are fingerprinted and background-checked, with years of experience and a passion for teaching. They may not be state-certified, but they bring creativity, care, and dedication to every lesson.

Program Costs

  • 1-Day/Week: $230/month ($690 billed quarterly)

  • 2-Day/Week: $450/month ($1350 billed quarterly)

  • Drop-In: $75/day

  • Half-Day (2-Class Block): $45

  • Annual Supply Fee: $100 (1-day) or $200 (2-day)

A Day in the Life at P.E.L.L.

Each day at P.E.L.L. includes engaging activities like:

  • Morning Reflection: Journaling, nature sketching, or puzzles

  • Core Subject Time: Exploring history, science, and math through creative activities and group work

  • Peaceful Pause: Time for rest and reflection, fostering mindfulness and balance

  • Afternoon Projects: Interactive book clubs, art, and building activities that bring learning to life

  • Flexible Learning: Every day stands alone, so students won’t fall behind if they attend only once a week.
