What Is P.E.L.L.?
Learning That Goes Beyond the Worksheet
At PELL, we believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process.
Our approach combines strong academic foundations with hands-on projects, real-world experiences, collaboration, and opportunities for students to ask questions, solve problems, and create.
Rather than simply learning information and moving on to the next lesson, students are encouraged to understand what they are learning and apply it in meaningful ways.
Wonder. Create. Reflect.
Our learning approach is built around three simple ideas:
Wonder
Ask questions, explore ideas, and become curious about the world around you.
Create
Use what you've learned to build, investigate, design, solve, write, and create.
Reflect
Think about what worked, what didn't, what you learned, and what you could do differently next time.
Academics + Real-World Learning
Hands-on learning doesn't mean academics take a back seat. Students receive direct instruction and practice in reading, writing, math, science, history, and other core skills—and then have opportunities to apply those skills through projects and real-world experiences.
A science investigation might involve reading and research. A building project might require math. A history topic might lead to a presentation or creative project.
The subjects connect because real life doesn't put learning into separate boxes.
Learning by Doing
At PELL, students aren't just asked to remember an answer. They're encouraged to ask:
Why? How? What if? What can I do with this?
Whether students are experimenting, building a robot, researching a topic, working through a math problem, creating art, or collaborating on a project, the goal is the same:
Give students the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active participants in their own learning.
